Force Gigabit Ethernet to 100 Mbps? Gen3 Router

Ok, I have a problem with my Ethernet, with Starlink, Gen3.

The proprietary cable was damaged, along with the connector on the board. It will take months to get a new cable here, but when the router Auto Negotiates to 100Mbps, which it does semi-randomly (When I move around the connector on the board), it works great (Up to 100Mbps). When it connects at 1000Mpbs, it stays linked for about 30 seconds, then resets, and is offline for about 5-8 seconds, and then works for anther 30-40 seconds, until it resets again, so is unusable(Ironically not for Netflix which seems to cache enough). I assume board or cable damage, but do not have the tools to solder this board here, I do not even have a magnifying glass :o

So my question is, can I force this cable, which is Starlink original, POE, to autonegotiate to 100Mbps somehow, until I can get a cable(or new Starlink)here. I am in Africa, and so the wait time is huge. It is simply POE Ethernet, 8 wires and a drain. I cannot find a way to do this with software, is it possible to hack this with hardware? I cannot use an inline POE injector, as I have no way to decouple the POE from the router. I am kind of trying to 'degrade' the cable intentionally.

I was thinking of cutting one of cable 4,5 or 7,8 which seem to be 48v-, and carry the gigabit if I understand? And hoping the current is not too high, but I will not enable the dish heating, so it should have some wiggle room.

Also, I was considering shorting 4-5 or/and 7-8 so I do not lose the capacity of the POE, although I am a bit scared to do that, not knowing the POE implication. I do not know if it is active or passive, or if it would make a difference.

Thanks!!

Edit - I am happy to be what looks like a first question here, where it seems like the most thorough information on Starlink lives!

Hello. You can short blue and brown wire pairs (4,5 or 7,8). This will keep the PoE but should force the 100 Mbps.
There is no way to do this in software.

OK, thank you so much, I will try that and hopefully it is stable until I can replace it!
