Title: Starlink Repair
Post by: lalov on Jan 17, 2025, 08:23 PM
A few days ago I received a Starlink rev3 for repair. Input malfunction - the router does not see the antenna every time. When it sees it, it stops when loading.
I decided to reball CPU, RAM, EMMC. After that I got a stable start but the download wouldn't go any further
Star droid showed me a picture as an attachment.

Then I measured the chips on the RFFE bus and found an area with low resistance near DBF11 (it was by 1.2 Ohm). Removed the L that separates the CLK Shiraz from the Pulsars and got low resistance on the Shiraz chip.
After that I removed the chip and saw traces of water under it in the past.

I thought that after removing the chip, the initialization of the bus would take place, but this did not happen. Now I need such a chip. I wanted to ask - are there any problems with their replacement? That is, some binding by ID, etc

And I don't know how to add more attachments because of the limitation

Hello! Starlink requires all Shiraz chips to work correctly. All chips are in a daisy chain.
Shiraz chips don't have any hardcoded IDs so you can replace the damaged chip with any donor.

Thank you. All that remained now was to find a donor

How many chips do you need?

One as minimum. May be 2-3 for a stock
