Hi all,
I've been applying for jobs around Sligo for the past couple of months and barely getting any responses, even for roles I feel like I'm well qualified for. I'm starting to think the issue might be my CV rather than my experience.
I've mostly worked in retail and admin roles locally, and I'm trying to move into something more office-based, but I think my CV still reads very "retail" if that makes sense, lots of generic duties listed, nothing that really shows what I actually achieved.
Has anyone here used a
CV help in Sligo, or even remotely, that actually helped? I'm not looking for something generic, I'd really like someone who understands the local job market here and what employers in the area are actually looking for, rather than a one-size-fits-all template.
A few things I'm hoping to get help with:
Making my experience sound more relevant to office/admin roles
Fixing formatting (my current CV is a bit of a mess, different fonts everywhere)
Making sure it actually gets past any automated screening, I've read that's a thing now with a lot of companies
If anyone's gone through something similar or can recommend someone good, I'd really appreciate it. Also happy to hear if anyone's had success just reworking their own CV without paying for help; any tips welcome too.
Thanks in advance!
